How to print on glass
Glass is one of the toughest surfaces to decorate well, and one of the most rewarding. Chemical transfer fuses the image and a Diamond Clear topcoat locks it in for a dishwasher-safe finish.
Step by step
The workflow.
- 1
Print and prepare
Print full colour plus white onto the correct transfer paper for the glass shape (Yellow Paper for flat, Marine A for curved or dimpled).
- 2
Transfer to the glass
Activate the glass surface and transfer the toner image, conforming the paper to any curve.
- 3
Diamond Clear topcoat
Coat or dip in Diamond Clear and let it sit 15 minutes.
- 4
Oven cure at 180°C
Cure glass at 180°C for 12 minutes (ceramic needs 15). Let it cool and wait 24 hours before the wash test.
Pro tips
- →Clean the glass thoroughly first; any grease will affect adhesion.
- →Diamond Clear gives the highest durability of any UPrint topcoat.
